Addison Township is a civil township located in northeast Oakland County, Michigan. Named after pioneer settler Addison Chamberlain, the township encompasses 36.58 square miles and is home to 6,256 residents according to the 2020 census. The township comprises several communities, including the village of Leonard in its northeast section, as well as two unincorporated communities. Lakeville, situated in the south central portion of the township, holds the distinction of being the township's first white settlement. Founded and named by Sherman Hopkins in 1830, Lakeville was platted in 1840 after a post office was established there in November 1836. Campbells Corner, the other unincorporated community, sits along the southern border with Oakland Charter Township.
Education in the township is served by multiple school districts.
