  • We show up on time and come to you, near Mile of Cars or the National City Marina

Why Joe's Cash For Cars in National City?

We Do It Right — Every Time

We Pay What We Quote — Guaranteed

Some car-buying services quote you high to get you interested, then the driver shows up and suddenly there's a problem with the catalytic converter or the transmission mounts and the offer drops by $300. We've heard this story from National City customers dozens of times. Our quote is based on an honest assessment, and that's the number we show up with — period.

Once you accept your offer, we can usually get a truck out to you the same day — especially if you're anywhere in National City or the surrounding San Diego County area. We run routes here regularly, so scheduling is rarely an issue. Call before noon and we'll do everything we can to make it happen that afternoon.

We Handle All the Paperwork

Transferring a car in California involves more forms than most people expect — especially if the title isn't straightforward or there's an outstanding loan. Our drivers carry everything, know the process cold, and make sure it's all done correctly so you're not on the hook for anything down the road.

What Happens to Your Car

After we buy your vehicle in National City, it's either resold, parted out, or recycled through licensed facilities that meet all California environmental regulations. We never abandon vehicles or dump them — every car we buy is handled responsibly.

A Little About National City

The Story of National City, CA

National City, located in San Diego County's South Bay region, is the second-oldest incorporated city in the county, having been established in 1887. The area has a deep and layered history stretching back millennia. Early human presence may date to 130,000 years ago, as suggested by evidence at the Cerutti Mastodon site, while later Archaic period settlements arose along the Sweetwater River. Before Spanish colonization, the Kumeyaay people, also known as the Diegueño or Kamia, inhabited the region.

Spanish settlers named the vast 26,000-acre territory El Rancho del Rey, using it to graze horses. Following Mexican independence in 1810, it became Rancho de la Nación and was granted to John Forster in 1845. The area's modern foundation began in 1868 when Frank Kimball and his brothers Warren and Levi purchased the entire rancho. These San Francisco contractors and builders transformed the landscape by constructing roads, the first railroad, and the region's first post office and wharf. Frank Kimball's personal residence was notably the first modern house in San Diego County, featuring a bathtub and hot running water. The brothers partnered with the U.S. Department of Agriculture to import and plant trees from Europe and Asia, many of which remain throughout the city today.

Following incorporation in 1887, National City evolved through distinct chapters. Mid-twentieth century National Avenue became the "Mile of Bars," catering to sailors from Naval Base San Diego, before transforming into the "Mile of Cars" as the city encouraged automobile dealerships. Victorian-era architecture, including Brick Row built by Frank Kimball in 1887 for railroad workers, reflects the city's preserved heritage and defines its character today.
