If you've got a car sitting in your driveway that you don't want anymore, the hardest part is over — you've already decided to let it go. Joe's Cash For Cars makes everything after that as simple as it gets. You call, we make you an offer, you say yes, we show up and hand you cash. That's it.
We buy cars for cash all over Alpine and the surrounding San Diego County area — running or not, any make, any model, free same-day towing.
A lot of people assume their old car isn't worth much — especially if it doesn't run, has body damage, or has been sitting for a while. But we buy cars in every kind of condition, and we almost always pay more than people expect. Give us a call at 619-762-2001 and find out exactly what your car is worth.
There's no shortage of people who claim they'll buy your car — but a lot of them will lowball you, ghost you after the inspection, or show up with a completely different number than what they quoted. We don't operate that way.
We service every part of Alpine, including:
Three steps from your first call to cash in hand. No runaround, no hidden fees.
Tell us your car's year, make, model, and condition. We give you a real offer in under two minutes — no callbacks, no pressure.
Accept the offer and pick a time. Same-day is usually available. We come right to you in Alpine — home, work, wherever. You don't move an inch.
Our driver brings all the paperwork, handles the tow, and hands you cash before they leave. Under 30 minutes, start to finish.
Some car-buying services quote you high to get you interested, then the driver shows up and suddenly there's a problem with the catalytic converter or the transmission mounts and the offer drops by $300. We've heard this story from Alpine customers dozens of times. Our quote is based on an honest assessment, and that's the number we show up with — period.
Once you accept your offer, we can usually get a truck out to you the same day — especially if you're anywhere in Alpine or the surrounding San Diego County area. We run routes here regularly, so scheduling is rarely an issue. Call before noon and we'll do everything we can to make it happen that afternoon.
Transferring a car in California involves more forms than most people expect — especially if the title isn't straightforward or there's an outstanding loan. Our drivers carry everything, know the process cold, and make sure it's all done correctly so you're not on the hook for anything down the road.
After we buy your vehicle in Alpine, it's either resold, parted out, or recycled through licensed facilities that meet all California environmental regulations. We never abandon vehicles or dump them — every car we buy is handled responsibly.

Alpine, nestled in the Cuyamaca Mountains of San Diego County about thirty miles east of downtown San Diego, has deep roots extending back thousands of years. The Kumeyaay Indians, whose ancestors inhabited this region for possibly as long as twelve thousand years, were the area's original residents. The community's current name came from a resident in the 1880s who thought the landscape resembled her native Switzerland. In its early development during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Alpine began as a rural area dotted with horse ranches and small farms, a character that persists today alongside modern suburban growth concentrated along Alpine Boulevard.
The town's geography shapes much of its identity. Sitting at approximately two thousand feet elevation on both sides of Interstate 8, Alpine experiences a warm-summer Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers and cool winters of moderate rainfall. While snowfall is rare in town, the surrounding elevated areas receive regular winter snow. The landscape is largely surrounded by Cleveland National Forest and borders the Viejas and Sycuan reservations of the Kumeyaay people, whose presence remains central to the area's cultural significance. Alpine grew modestly as an unincorporated community, appearing in the 1960 census and formally designated as a census-designated place by 1980. The 2020 census recorded a population of 14,696. The community faced significant challenge in 2003 when the Cedar Fire devastated the Alpine area. Today, the mix of open chaparral hillsides, riparian canyons, and rural stretches reflects Alpine's enduring character as a mountain community balancing growth with its natural heritage.
