If you've got a car sitting in your driveway that you don't want anymore, the hardest part is over — you've already decided to let it go. Joe's Cash For Cars makes everything after that as simple as it gets. You call, we make you an offer, you say yes, we show up and pay you on the spot. That's it.
We buy cars for cash all over Gardner and the surrounding Johnson County area — running or not, any make, any model, free towing, scheduled pickup.
A lot of people assume their old car isn't worth much — especially if it doesn't run, has body damage, or has been sitting for a while. But we buy cars in every kind of condition, and we almost always pay more than people expect. Give us a call at 619-762-2001 and find out exactly what your car is worth.
There's no shortage of people who claim they'll buy your car — but a lot of them will lowball you, ghost you after the inspection, or show up with a completely different number than what they quoted. We don't operate that way.
We service every part of Gardner, including:
Three steps from your first call to getting paid. No runaround, no hidden fees.
Tell us your car's year, make, model, and condition. We give you a real offer in under two minutes — no callbacks, no pressure.
Accept the offer and pick a time that works for you — often the same day or next. We come right to you in Gardner — home, work, wherever. You don't move an inch.
Our driver brings all the paperwork, handles the tow, and pays you before they leave. Under 30 minutes, start to finish.
Some car-buying services quote you high to get you interested, then the driver shows up and suddenly there's a problem with the catalytic converter or the transmission mounts and the offer drops by $300. We've heard this story from Gardner customers dozens of times. Our quote is based on an honest assessment, and that's the number we show up with — period.
Once you accept your offer, we'll set up a pickup time that works for you — often the same day or next day, especially if you're anywhere in Gardner or the surrounding Johnson County area. We run routes here regularly, so scheduling is rarely an issue. Give us a call and we'll lock in a time.
Transferring a car in Kansas involves more forms than most people expect — especially if the title isn't straightforward or there's an outstanding loan. Our drivers carry everything, know the process cold, and make sure it's all done correctly so you're not on the hook for anything down the road.
After we buy your vehicle in Gardner, it's either resold, parted out, or recycled through licensed facilities that meet all Kansas environmental regulations. We never abandon vehicles or dump them — every car we buy is handled responsibly.

Gardner is a city in Johnson County, Kansas, situated within the Kansas City metropolitan area. As of the 2020 census, the city's population was 23,287. Today, Gardner stands as a vibrant community covering 10.21 square miles, characterized by hot, humid summers and mild to cool winters.
The city's history is deeply rooted in westward expansion. Gardner was founded in 1857 as a Free-Stater settlement at the historic junction where the Santa Fe Trail and the Oregon/California Trails divided. Settlers primarily from Massachusetts established the community and named it after Henry Gardner, the governor of Massachusetts at that time. The town's first post office opened in 1858. Just four years after its founding, Gardner made an unfortunate mark on Kansas history by becoming the first community in Johnson County, and possibly the first in the state, to experience an attack by Confederate forces.
Geography shaped Gardner's early significance. The Santa Fe Trail directed travelers southwest toward Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Los Angeles, and San Diego, while the Oregon/California Trails led west and north through the Kansas River valley, following the Big Blue River into Nebraska before eventually splitting in Wyoming, Idaho, or Utah. Today, Gardner Lake on the north side of town and the headwaters of Kill Creek remain notable geographic features.
By 2020, Gardner had grown into a substantial community with 8,005 households and a median household income of $78,193. The city is part of the USD 231 school district and continues to serve as an important part of the greater Kansas City region.
