If you've got a car sitting in your driveway that you don't want anymore, the hardest part is over — you've already decided to let it go. Joe's Cash For Cars makes everything after that as simple as it gets. You call, we make you an offer, you say yes, we show up and pay you on the spot. That's it.
We buy cars for cash all over Silver City and the surrounding Grant County area — running or not, any make, any model, free towing, scheduled pickup.
A lot of people assume their old car isn't worth much — especially if it doesn't run, has body damage, or has been sitting for a while. But we buy cars in every kind of condition, and we almost always pay more than people expect. Give us a call at 619-762-2001 and find out exactly what your car is worth.
There's no shortage of people who claim they'll buy your car — but a lot of them will lowball you, ghost you after the inspection, or show up with a completely different number than what they quoted. We don't operate that way.
We service every part of Silver City, including:
Three steps from your first call to getting paid. No runaround, no hidden fees.
Tell us your car's year, make, model, and condition. We give you a real offer in under two minutes — no callbacks, no pressure.
Accept the offer and pick a time that works for you — often the same day or next. We come right to you in Silver City — home, work, wherever. You don't move an inch.
Our driver brings all the paperwork, handles the tow, and pays you before they leave. Under 30 minutes, start to finish.
Some car-buying services quote you high to get you interested, then the driver shows up and suddenly there's a problem with the catalytic converter or the transmission mounts and the offer drops by $300. We've heard this story from Silver City customers dozens of times. Our quote is based on an honest assessment, and that's the number we show up with — period.
Once you accept your offer, we'll set up a pickup time that works for you — often the same day or next day, especially if you're anywhere in Silver City or the surrounding Grant County area. We run routes here regularly, so scheduling is rarely an issue. Give us a call and we'll lock in a time.
Transferring a car in New Mexico involves more forms than most people expect — especially if the title isn't straightforward or there's an outstanding loan. Our drivers carry everything, know the process cold, and make sure it's all done correctly so you're not on the hook for anything down the road.
After we buy your vehicle in Silver City, it's either resold, parted out, or recycled through licensed facilities that meet all New Mexico environmental regulations. We never abandon vehicles or dump them — every car we buy is handled responsibly.

Silver City is the county seat of Grant County, New Mexico and home to Western New Mexico University. The town's population was 10,315 according to the 2010 census, declining slightly to 9,704 by 2020.
The area has a long human history. The Mimbres Mogollon Indians lived in the region from around A.D. 200 to A.D. 1140 or 1150, and the Apaches occupied the vicinity beginning in the late 1500s to early 1600s. When the Spanish arrived, they recognized the area for its copper mining potential. After the American Civil War, a settlement called La Ciénega de San Vicente developed, but Silver City was officially founded in the summer of 1870 following the discovery of silver ore deposits at Chloride Flat. Captain John M. Bullard laid out the town's streets, though he was killed in a confrontation with Apache on February 23, 1871, just months after the founding.
During the 1870s, Silver City experienced substantial violent crime until Grant County Sheriff Harvey Whitehill was elected in 1874 and gained a reputation for controlling trouble. Whitehill became notable for arresting Billy the Kid twice in Silver City for theft in 1875, when the outlaw was using the alias Henry Antrim. The town hired its first marshal in 1878. The Standard-gauge Santa Fe Railroad reached Silver City in 1886, supporting the region's mining operations.
In 1893, New Mexico Normal School was established, eventually becoming Western New Mexico University in 1963.
