Carr is an unincorporated community in Weld County, Colorado, with ZIP code 80612. Founded by the Union Pacific Railroad in 1872, the town was named after Robert E. Carr, a railroad official who oversaw construction of the rail line through the area. The Carr post office opened that same year on March 26, 1872, serving the community for nearly 150 years until its closure around 2021. From 1920 to 1939, the town was home to Old Colorado State Highway 5, though this minor route proved less significant than intended.
