If you've got a car sitting in your driveway that you don't want anymore, the hardest part is over — you've already decided to let it go. Joe's Cash For Cars makes everything after that as simple as it gets. You call, we make you an offer, you say yes, we show up and pay you on the spot. That's it.
We buy cars for cash all over Shepherd and the surrounding Isabella County area — running or not, any make, any model, free same-day towing.
A lot of people assume their old car isn't worth much — especially if it doesn't run, has body damage, or has been sitting for a while. But we buy cars in every kind of condition, and we almost always pay more than people expect. Give us a call at 619-762-2001 and find out exactly what your car is worth.
There's no shortage of people who claim they'll buy your car — but a lot of them will lowball you, ghost you after the inspection, or show up with a completely different number than what they quoted. We don't operate that way.
We service every part of Shepherd, including:
Three steps from your first call to getting paid. No runaround, no hidden fees.
Tell us your car's year, make, model, and condition. We give you a real offer in under two minutes — no callbacks, no pressure.
Accept the offer and pick a time that works for you — often the same day or next. We come right to you in Shepherd — home, work, wherever. You don't move an inch.
Our driver brings all the paperwork, handles the tow, and pays you before they leave. Under 30 minutes, start to finish.
Some car-buying services quote you high to get you interested, then the driver shows up and suddenly there's a problem with the catalytic converter or the transmission mounts and the offer drops by $300. We've heard this story from Shepherd customers dozens of times. Our quote is based on an honest assessment, and that's the number we show up with — period.
Once you accept your offer, we'll set up a pickup time that works for you — often the same day or next day, especially if you're anywhere in Shepherd or the surrounding Isabella County area. We run routes here regularly, so scheduling is rarely an issue. Give us a call and we'll lock in a time.
Transferring a car in Michigan involves more forms than most people expect — especially if the title isn't straightforward or there's an outstanding loan. Our drivers carry everything, know the process cold, and make sure it's all done correctly so you're not on the hook for anything down the road.
After we buy your vehicle in Shepherd, it's either resold, parted out, or recycled through licensed facilities that meet all Michigan environmental regulations. We never abandon vehicles or dump them — every car we buy is handled responsibly.

Shepherd is a small village nestled in Isabella County, Michigan, with a population of 1,469 according to the 2020 census. Located within Coe Township, this community has deep roots in the region's lumber industry and transportation history. The village was first settled by lumberman Isaac Shepherd and others along the Salt River, beginning as a post office called Salt River in 1857. The community was formally platted in 1866, and when the railroads expanded into the area in 1885, the train station was named Shepherd after Isaac Shepherd's estate. The post office adopted the Shepherd name in 1887. That same year tested the community's resilience when a devastating fire destroyed most of the village, but residents rebuilt and officially incorporated as a village in 1889. Today, Shepherd celebrates its heritage through the annual Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival, which began in 1958 and now features exhibits, crafts, music, food, and a parade. The village experiences a humid continental climate with warm summers and cold winters typical of the region. US Route 127 provides convenient access to the area via exit 135 at Blanchard Road. With its small-town character and historical significance to Michigan's lumber era, Shepherd continues to serve as a vibrant community in central Michigan.
