If you've got a car sitting in your driveway that you don't want anymore, the hardest part is over — you've already decided to let it go. Joe's Cash For Cars makes everything after that as simple as it gets. You call, we make you an offer, you say yes, we show up and pay you on the spot. That's it.
We buy cars for cash all over Alton and the surrounding Osborne County area — running or not, any make, any model, free towing, scheduled pickup.
A lot of people assume their old car isn't worth much — especially if it doesn't run, has body damage, or has been sitting for a while. But we buy cars in every kind of condition, and we almost always pay more than people expect. Give us a call at 619-762-2001 and find out exactly what your car is worth.
There's no shortage of people who claim they'll buy your car — but a lot of them will lowball you, ghost you after the inspection, or show up with a completely different number than what they quoted. We don't operate that way.
We service every part of Alton, including:
Three steps from your first call to getting paid. No runaround, no hidden fees.
Tell us your car's year, make, model, and condition. We give you a real offer in under two minutes — no callbacks, no pressure.
Accept the offer and pick a time that works for you — often the same day or next. We come right to you in Alton — home, work, wherever. You don't move an inch.
Our driver brings all the paperwork, handles the tow, and pays you before they leave. Under 30 minutes, start to finish.
Some car-buying services quote you high to get you interested, then the driver shows up and suddenly there's a problem with the catalytic converter or the transmission mounts and the offer drops by $300. We've heard this story from Alton customers dozens of times. Our quote is based on an honest assessment, and that's the number we show up with — period.
Once you accept your offer, we'll set up a pickup time that works for you — often the same day or next day, especially if you're anywhere in Alton or the surrounding Osborne County area. We run routes here regularly, so scheduling is rarely an issue. Give us a call and we'll lock in a time.
Transferring a car in Kansas involves more forms than most people expect — especially if the title isn't straightforward or there's an outstanding loan. Our drivers carry everything, know the process cold, and make sure it's all done correctly so you're not on the hook for anything down the road.
After we buy your vehicle in Alton, it's either resold, parted out, or recycled through licensed facilities that meet all Kansas environmental regulations. We never abandon vehicles or dump them — every car we buy is handled responsibly.

Alton is a small city located in Osborne County, Kansas. Founded in 1870 as Bull City in honor of Hiram C. Bull, the settlement was renamed Alton in 1885 after the city of Alton, Illinois, a change made at the request of female residents who preferred the new name. Today, Alton is home to a population of 100 people, according to the 2020 census.
The city covers just 0.31 square miles and experiences a humid continental climate typical of the central Great Plains. Summers are hot and humid, with thunderstorms and tornadoes posing frequent hazards. Winters can vary dramatically, ranging from warm chinook winds to extreme cold from Canadian air masses. Alton holds the distinction of recording one of the highest temperatures in American history on July 24, 1936, when the thermometer reached 121 degrees Fahrenheit, making it the highest temperature ever recorded in Kansas. Only California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Nevada have recorded higher temperatures. The city's record April temperature of 106 degrees Fahrenheit occurred on April 23, 1989.
Alton is served by Osborne County USD 392 public school district. The former Alton High School, which had the Wildcats as its mascot, closed in 1970 through school unification. Several notable individuals have connections to Alton, including businessman and politician Hiram C. Bull, football player Len Dugan, architect Bruce Goff, and confectioner Russell Stover.
