If you've got a car sitting in your driveway that you don't want anymore, the hardest part is over — you've already decided to let it go. Joe's Cash For Cars makes everything after that as simple as it gets. You call, we make you an offer, you say yes, we show up and pay you on the spot. That's it.
We buy cars for cash all over Trade and the surrounding Johnson County area — running or not, any make, any model, free towing, scheduled pickup.
A lot of people assume their old car isn't worth much — especially if it doesn't run, has body damage, or has been sitting for a while. But we buy cars in every kind of condition, and we almost always pay more than people expect. Give us a call at 619-762-2001 and find out exactly what your car is worth.
There's no shortage of people who claim they'll buy your car — but a lot of them will lowball you, ghost you after the inspection, or show up with a completely different number than what they quoted. We don't operate that way.
We service every part of Trade, including:
Three steps from your first call to getting paid. No runaround, no hidden fees.
Tell us your car's year, make, model, and condition. We give you a real offer in under two minutes — no callbacks, no pressure.
Accept the offer and pick a time that works for you — often the same day or next. We come right to you in Trade — home, work, wherever. You don't move an inch.
Our driver brings all the paperwork, handles the tow, and pays you before they leave. Under 30 minutes, start to finish.
Some car-buying services quote you high to get you interested, then the driver shows up and suddenly there's a problem with the catalytic converter or the transmission mounts and the offer drops by $300. We've heard this story from Trade customers dozens of times. Our quote is based on an honest assessment, and that's the number we show up with — period.
Once you accept your offer, we'll set up a pickup time that works for you — often the same day or next day, especially if you're anywhere in Trade or the surrounding Johnson County area. We run routes here regularly, so scheduling is rarely an issue. Give us a call and we'll lock in a time.
Transferring a car in Tennessee involves more forms than most people expect — especially if the title isn't straightforward or there's an outstanding loan. Our drivers carry everything, know the process cold, and make sure it's all done correctly so you're not on the hook for anything down the road.
After we buy your vehicle in Trade, it's either resold, parted out, or recycled through licensed facilities that meet all Tennessee environmental regulations. We never abandon vehicles or dump them — every car we buy is handled responsibly.

Trade is an unincorporated community in Johnson County, Tennessee, and the easternmost community in the state. Located along US 421 between Mountain City, Tennessee, and Boone, North Carolina, Trade stands at an elevation of 3,133 feet, making it the highest community in Tennessee. Generally considered Tennessee's oldest community, Trade originated in the 18th century as "The Trade Gap," a trading post where Native Americans, pioneers, and fur traders gathered to buy and sell their wares. The settlement was positioned on an old buffalo trail between Snake and Rich Mountains, offering the easiest passage through the mountains to the West. English-speakers first visited the area as early as 1673, during the Needham and Arthur expedition.
Trade has also featured in notable historical events. The area became a hiding place for Tom Dula, the subject of the famous folk song "Tom Dooley," after he was suspected of murdering Laura Foster in nearby Wilkes County, North Carolina. Dula was apprehended in Trade while working on Grayson farm.
Today, Trade maintains its cultural heritage through several attractions. The Trade gristmill, which opened in 2008, features components dating back to the pre-Civil War era and is open to the public, offering products like popcorn grits and local artwork. The Trade Days festival, held each June since 1989, celebrated Appalachian arts, crafts, culture, history, music, and dance, along with a Native American pow-wow, with festival proceeds supporting the Trade Community Center and Park.
