If you've got a car sitting in your driveway that you don't want anymore, the hardest part is over — you've already decided to let it go. Joe's Cash For Cars makes everything after that as simple as it gets. You call, we make you an offer, you say yes, we show up and pay you on the spot. That's it.
We buy cars for cash all over Hillsdale and the surrounding Hillsdale County area — running or not, any make, any model, free same-day towing.
A lot of people assume their old car isn't worth much — especially if it doesn't run, has body damage, or has been sitting for a while. But we buy cars in every kind of condition, and we almost always pay more than people expect. Give us a call at 619-762-2001 and find out exactly what your car is worth.
There's no shortage of people who claim they'll buy your car — but a lot of them will lowball you, ghost you after the inspection, or show up with a completely different number than what they quoted. We don't operate that way.
We service every part of Hillsdale, including:
Three steps from your first call to getting paid. No runaround, no hidden fees.
Tell us your car's year, make, model, and condition. We give you a real offer in under two minutes — no callbacks, no pressure.
Accept the offer and pick a time that works for you — often the same day or next. We come right to you in Hillsdale — home, work, wherever. You don't move an inch.
Our driver brings all the paperwork, handles the tow, and pays you before they leave. Under 30 minutes, start to finish.
Some car-buying services quote you high to get you interested, then the driver shows up and suddenly there's a problem with the catalytic converter or the transmission mounts and the offer drops by $300. We've heard this story from Hillsdale customers dozens of times. Our quote is based on an honest assessment, and that's the number we show up with — period.
Once you accept your offer, we'll set up a pickup time that works for you — often the same day or next day, especially if you're anywhere in Hillsdale or the surrounding Hillsdale County area. We run routes here regularly, so scheduling is rarely an issue. Give us a call and we'll lock in a time.
Transferring a car in Michigan involves more forms than most people expect — especially if the title isn't straightforward or there's an outstanding loan. Our drivers carry everything, know the process cold, and make sure it's all done correctly so you're not on the hook for anything down the road.
After we buy your vehicle in Hillsdale, it's either resold, parted out, or recycled through licensed facilities that meet all Michigan environmental regulations. We never abandon vehicles or dump them — every car we buy is handled responsibly.

Hillsdale, the county seat of Hillsdale County in south central Michigan, is home to 8,036 residents according to the 2020 census. The city sits in rolling, fertile hills that border Indiana and Ohio, an area long occupied by the Potowatomi people, who maintained a base camp near a large lake under the leadership of Chief Baw Beese. European-American settlement began in 1834 when Jeremiah Arnold arrived and built a cabin with his wife Percy. The Potowatomi, who had helped early settlers, were forced west in 1840 as part of a broader removal to present-day Kansas.
Hillsdale was platted in 1839 and chartered in 1869. The city became closely associated with Hillsdale College, which relocated here in 1853 from Spring Arbor and became the first American college to prohibit discrimination based on race, religion, or sex in its charter. The college also became the second in the nation to grant four-year liberal arts degrees to women. During the late nineteenth century, Hillsdale flourished as a railroad town, with the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railroad bringing tourists to nearby Baw Beese Lake, named after the Potowatomi chief. This prosperity produced many Victorian homes that remain today.
The twentieth century brought steady development, including a public library in 1908, a hospital in 1921, and a municipal airport in 1934. However, the rise of automobile travel and interstate highways led to the departure of the last passenger train in 1956, marking the end of an era for this historic community.
