Some car-buying services quote you high to get you interested, then the driver shows up and suddenly there's a problem with the catalytic converter or the transmission mounts and the offer drops by $300. We've heard this story from Somersworth customers dozens of times. Our quote is based on an honest assessment, and that's the number we show up with — period.
Once you accept your offer, we'll set up a pickup time that works for you — often the same day or next day, especially if you're anywhere in Somersworth or the surrounding Strafford County area. We run routes here regularly, so scheduling is rarely an issue. Give us a call and we'll lock in a time.

Somersworth is a city located in eastern Strafford County, New Hampshire, with a population of 11,855 according to the 2020 census. Despite being one of New Hampshire's thirteen cities, Somersworth has the smallest area and the third-lowest population among them.
Before European colonists arrived, the area was central-south Abenaki land, with these Algonquian-speaking peoples living along the Salmon Falls River, which they called Newichwanook. British settlers arrived before 1700 and named the area Sligo after the Irish county. The community was formally organized in 1729 as the parish of Summersworth, meaning "summer town" because ministers preached there seasonally. It was incorporated in 1754 by colonial governor Benning Wentworth and became a city in 1893, though a clerical error at incorporation shortened the name to Somersworth.
The city's industrial heritage centers on the dramatic geography of the Salmon Falls River, which drops one hundred feet over a mile. This natural water power attracted textile mills beginning in the early nineteenth century. In 1822, brothers Isaac and Jacob Wendell of Boston purchased a gristmill and established the Great Falls Manufacturing Company, which expanded to operate three mills producing thread, cotton, and woolen fabrics. Throughout the nineteenth century, additional brick mill buildings, including a bleachery and dye works, were constructed along the river. The bleachery became the city's longest-running textile operation, transforming buff-colored fabric into sparkling white material for buyers.
The textile industry attracted workers from surrounding farms and later immigrants from Ireland and Quebec. The railroad arrived in the early 1840s, followed by the Electric Street Railway in 1890. Though the textile industry declined in the twentieth century, Somersworth retains significant Victorian architecture from its prosperous mill era, particularly in its historic district known as The Hill.
