If you've got a car sitting in your driveway that you don't want anymore, the hardest part is over — you've already decided to let it go. Joe's Cash For Cars makes everything after that as simple as it gets. You call, we make you an offer, you say yes, we show up and pay you on the spot. That's it.
We buy cars for cash all over Ruffin and the surrounding Rockingham County area — running or not, any make, any model, free towing, scheduled pickup.
A lot of people assume their old car isn't worth much — especially if it doesn't run, has body damage, or has been sitting for a while. But we buy cars in every kind of condition, and we almost always pay more than people expect. Give us a call at 619-762-2001 and find out exactly what your car is worth.
There's no shortage of people who claim they'll buy your car — but a lot of them will lowball you, ghost you after the inspection, or show up with a completely different number than what they quoted. We don't operate that way.
We service every part of Ruffin, including:
Three steps from your first call to getting paid. No runaround, no hidden fees.
Tell us your car's year, make, model, and condition. We give you a real offer in under two minutes — no callbacks, no pressure.
Accept the offer and pick a time that works for you — often the same day or next. We come right to you in Ruffin — home, work, wherever. You don't move an inch.
Our driver brings all the paperwork, handles the tow, and pays you before they leave. Under 30 minutes, start to finish.
Some car-buying services quote you high to get you interested, then the driver shows up and suddenly there's a problem with the catalytic converter or the transmission mounts and the offer drops by $300. We've heard this story from Ruffin customers dozens of times. Our quote is based on an honest assessment, and that's the number we show up with — period.
Once you accept your offer, we'll set up a pickup time that works for you — often the same day or next day, especially if you're anywhere in Ruffin or the surrounding Rockingham County area. We run routes here regularly, so scheduling is rarely an issue. Give us a call and we'll lock in a time.
Transferring a car in North Carolina involves more forms than most people expect — especially if the title isn't straightforward or there's an outstanding loan. Our drivers carry everything, know the process cold, and make sure it's all done correctly so you're not on the hook for anything down the road.
After we buy your vehicle in Ruffin, it's either resold, parted out, or recycled through licensed facilities that meet all North Carolina environmental regulations. We never abandon vehicles or dump them — every car we buy is handled responsibly.

Ruffin is an unincorporated community in Rockingham County, North Carolina, with a population of approximately 501 as of 2023. Located northeast of Reidsville and southwest of Danville, Virginia, near US 29, Ruffin sits among neighboring communities including Eden, Pelham, Casville, and Wentworth.
The community's history is closely tied to the Piedmont Railroad, which was completed by the Confederate Government in 1864. This achievement sparked steady growth in Ruffin, which became an important trade center for both Rockingham and Caswell counties. However, substantial expansion was not to be. While nearby Reidsville flourished, Ruffin's development remained limited, with some speculation that local landowners deliberately chose to keep the community rural and undeveloped.
Despite modest growth, Ruffin established itself as home to Rockingham County's first volunteer fire department. The community sustained itself through agriculture, with residents producing tobacco, vegetables, and strawberries. The area also once supported a gold mine. From 1887 to 1897, Ruffin was incorporated with its own municipal government, with Victor M. Holderby serving as its final mayor. The community is named after Thomas Ruffin, an American jurist who served as Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court from 1829 to 1852 and again from 1858 to 1859, and as Chief Justice from 1833 to 1852. He lived in the community briefly.
Religious life in Ruffin centers around three churches: Ruffin United Methodist Church, Ruffin-Stacey Baptist Church, and Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church, established in 1886. In April 2018, an EF1 tornado struck the community as part of a larger southeastern outbreak.
