Why Joe's Cash For Cars in Jamestown?

We Do It Right — Every Time

We Pay What We Quote — Guaranteed

Some car-buying services quote you high to get you interested, then the driver shows up and suddenly there's a problem with the catalytic converter or the transmission mounts and the offer drops by $300. We've heard this story from Jamestown customers dozens of times. Our quote is based on an honest assessment, and that's the number we show up with — period.

Once you accept your offer, we'll set up a pickup time that works for you — often the same day or next day, especially if you're anywhere in Jamestown or the surrounding Newport County area. We run routes here regularly, so scheduling is rarely an issue. Give us a call and we'll lock in a time.

We Handle All the Paperwork

Transferring a car in Rhode Island involves more forms than most people expect — especially if the title isn't straightforward or there's an outstanding loan. Our drivers carry everything, know the process cold, and make sure it's all done correctly so you're not on the hook for anything down the road.

What Happens to Your Car

After we buy your vehicle in Jamestown, it's either resold, parted out, or recycled through licensed facilities that meet all Rhode Island environmental regulations. We never abandon vehicles or dump them — every car we buy is handled responsibly.

A Little About Jamestown

The Story of Jamestown, RI

Jamestown is a town in Newport County, Rhode Island, situated almost entirely on Conanicut Island, the second largest island in Narragansett Bay. The 2020 census recorded a population of 5,559 residents. The town encompasses 35.3 square miles, with water making up 72.55 percent of that total area. Jamestown also includes two uninhabited islands, Dutch Island and Gould Island.

Italian navigator Giovanni da Verrazzano visited Narragansett Bay in 1524. English colonists began using Conanicut Island for grazing sheep in 1638 following arrangements with Native Americans. Ferries connected Conanicut Island to Newport by 1675, and the island was formally incorporated as the town of Jamestown in 1678, with approximately 150 residents. The town was named for James, Duke of York, who became King James II in 1685. By 1728, Jamestown had constructed a windmill for grinding corn, powered by sea breezes.

The American Revolution brought conflict to the islands. British and Hessian troops landed in December 1775, destroying buildings and prompting over two hundred residents to flee. British occupation from December 1776 to October 1779 caused further damage, including the destruction of the Beavertail Lighthouse.

Reconstruction followed the war. Beavertail Lighthouse returned to operation by 1784, and key buildings were rebuilt in 1787. The introduction of steam-powered ferry service to Newport in 1873 transformed Jamestown into a popular vacation destination. The 1880s and 1890s saw rapid growth, with the island's population tripling between 1870 and 1900. Though grand resort hotels once dominated the landscape, only the Bay Voyage Hotel survives today as a time share resort. The Claiborne Pell Newport Bridge, completed in 1969, replaced traditional ferry service and connected Jamestown directly to Newport.
