Harbor is an unincorporated community in southwestern Curry County, Oregon, situated across the Chetco River from the city of Brookings. Located along U.S. Route 101 about a mile east of Brookings and five miles north of the California state line, Harbor serves as a census-designated place with a 2020 population of 2,551. The area's postal history reflects its development, with an original post office named Chetco after the nearby river established in 1863. This office relocated several times before closing in 1910, while a new post office named Harbor was established at the mouth of the Chetco River in 1894, possibly taking its name from the Chetco Harbor Land and Townsite Company.
