If you've got a car sitting in your driveway that you don't want anymore, the hardest part is over — you've already decided to let it go. Joe's Cash For Cars makes everything after that as simple as it gets. You call, we make you an offer, you say yes, we show up and pay you on the spot. That's it.
We buy cars for cash all over Friend and the surrounding Saline County area — running or not, any make, any model, free towing, scheduled pickup.
A lot of people assume their old car isn't worth much — especially if it doesn't run, has body damage, or has been sitting for a while. But we buy cars in every kind of condition, and we almost always pay more than people expect. Give us a call at 619-762-2001 and find out exactly what your car is worth.
There's no shortage of people who claim they'll buy your car — but a lot of them will lowball you, ghost you after the inspection, or show up with a completely different number than what they quoted. We don't operate that way.
We service every part of Friend, including:
Three steps from your first call to getting paid. No runaround, no hidden fees.
Tell us your car's year, make, model, and condition. We give you a real offer in under two minutes — no callbacks, no pressure.
Accept the offer and pick a time that works for you — often the same day or next. We come right to you in Friend — home, work, wherever. You don't move an inch.
Our driver brings all the paperwork, handles the tow, and pays you before they leave. Under 30 minutes, start to finish.
Some car-buying services quote you high to get you interested, then the driver shows up and suddenly there's a problem with the catalytic converter or the transmission mounts and the offer drops by $300. We've heard this story from Friend customers dozens of times. Our quote is based on an honest assessment, and that's the number we show up with — period.
Once you accept your offer, we'll set up a pickup time that works for you — often the same day or next day, especially if you're anywhere in Friend or the surrounding Saline County area. We run routes here regularly, so scheduling is rarely an issue. Give us a call and we'll lock in a time.
Transferring a car in Nebraska involves more forms than most people expect — especially if the title isn't straightforward or there's an outstanding loan. Our drivers carry everything, know the process cold, and make sure it's all done correctly so you're not on the hook for anything down the road.
After we buy your vehicle in Friend, it's either resold, parted out, or recycled through licensed facilities that meet all Nebraska environmental regulations. We never abandon vehicles or dump them — every car we buy is handled responsibly.

Friend is a small city in Saline County, Nebraska, with a population of 954 as of the 2020 census. The community was named for Charles E. Friend, who homesteaded the land and originally called it Friendville. Friend operated a dry goods store and post office in the early settlement. When the Burlington and Missouri River Railroad established a new train station there in 1873, it adopted the name Friend, which became the official name of the community.
The city holds some distinctive historical significance. The National Greyhound Association, originally known as the National Coursing Association, was founded here in 1906. Perhaps most notably, Friend's Police Department gained international recognition when Ripley's Believe It or Not! reported it as the world's smallest police station. The department was initially housed in a tool shed during the construction of U.S. Route 6. In the 1960s, the structure doubled in size to accommodate the Nebraska State Patrol, after which Friend continued to claim having the smallest combined police station. This iconic shed stood until 2015, when it was demolished and replaced with a neon Friend sign.
Friend Public Schools serves as the local school district. The city spans 0.83 square miles and has produced several notable individuals, including professional baseball player Thad Weber, journalist and activist Anna Louise Strong, and historian John L. Loos.
