If you've got a car sitting in your driveway that you don't want anymore, the hardest part is over — you've already decided to let it go. Joe's Cash For Cars makes everything after that as simple as it gets. You call, we make you an offer, you say yes, we show up and pay you on the spot. That's it.
We buy cars for cash all over Abilene and the surrounding Taylor County area — running or not, any make, any model, free same-day towing.
A lot of people assume their old car isn't worth much — especially if it doesn't run, has body damage, or has been sitting for a while. But we buy cars in every kind of condition, and we almost always pay more than people expect. Give us a call at 619-762-2001 and find out exactly what your car is worth.
There's no shortage of people who claim they'll buy your car — but a lot of them will lowball you, ghost you after the inspection, or show up with a completely different number than what they quoted. We don't operate that way.
We service every part of Abilene, including:
Three steps from your first call to getting paid. No runaround, no hidden fees.
Tell us your car's year, make, model, and condition. We give you a real offer in under two minutes — no callbacks, no pressure.
Accept the offer and pick a time that works for you — often the same day or next. We come right to you in Abilene — home, work, wherever. You don't move an inch.
Our driver brings all the paperwork, handles the tow, and pays you before they leave. Under 30 minutes, start to finish.
Some car-buying services quote you high to get you interested, then the driver shows up and suddenly there's a problem with the catalytic converter or the transmission mounts and the offer drops by $300. We've heard this story from Abilene customers dozens of times. Our quote is based on an honest assessment, and that's the number we show up with — period.
Once you accept your offer, we'll set up a pickup time that works for you — often the same day or next day, especially if you're anywhere in Abilene or the surrounding Taylor County area. We run routes here regularly, so scheduling is rarely an issue. Give us a call and we'll lock in a time.
Transferring a car in Texas involves more forms than most people expect — especially if the title isn't straightforward or there's an outstanding loan. Our drivers carry everything, know the process cold, and make sure it's all done correctly so you're not on the hook for anything down the road.
After we buy your vehicle in Abilene, it's either resold, parted out, or recycled through licensed facilities that meet all Texas environmental regulations. We never abandon vehicles or dump them — every car we buy is handled responsibly.

Abilene is a city in Taylor and Jones counties, located 150 miles west of Fort Worth on Interstate 20. With a population of 125,182 at the 2020 census, it serves as the principal city of the Abilene metropolitan area. The city is the county seat of Taylor County and home to three Christian universities: Abilene Christian University, McMurry University, and Hardin-Simmons University. Dyess Air Force Base, a major employer with 6,076 employees in 2007, is located on the city's west side.
Established in 1881 as a stock shipping point on the Texas and Pacific Railway, Abilene was named after Abilene, Kansas by landowner Clabe Merchant, known as the father of Abilene. The town grew rapidly from its founding, with 139 lots sold on the first day of the March 15, 1881 auction. Residents successfully won the county seat election in a three-to-one vote. The three universities began with Simmons College in 1891, followed by Childers Classical Institute in 1906 and McMurry College in 1923. During World War II, Camp Barkeley operated as a major military installation, and in the early 1950s, residents raised funds to attract Dyess Air Force Base. From 1950 to 1960, Abilene's population nearly doubled. Today, the city serves as the commercial, retail, medical, and transportation hub for a nineteen-county region known as the Big Country.
