If you've got a car sitting in your driveway that you don't want anymore, the hardest part is over — you've already decided to let it go. Joe's Cash For Cars makes everything after that as simple as it gets. You call, we make you an offer, you say yes, we show up and pay you on the spot. That's it.
We buy cars for cash all over Wheeling and the surrounding Cook County area — running or not, any make, any model, free towing, scheduled pickup.
A lot of people assume their old car isn't worth much — especially if it doesn't run, has body damage, or has been sitting for a while. But we buy cars in every kind of condition, and we almost always pay more than people expect. Give us a call at 619-762-2001 and find out exactly what your car is worth.
There's no shortage of people who claim they'll buy your car — but a lot of them will lowball you, ghost you after the inspection, or show up with a completely different number than what they quoted. We don't operate that way.
We service every part of Wheeling, including:
Three steps from your first call to getting paid. No runaround, no hidden fees.
Tell us your car's year, make, model, and condition. We give you a real offer in under two minutes — no callbacks, no pressure.
Accept the offer and pick a time that works for you — often the same day or next. We come right to you in Wheeling — home, work, wherever. You don't move an inch.
Our driver brings all the paperwork, handles the tow, and pays you before they leave. Under 30 minutes, start to finish.
Some car-buying services quote you high to get you interested, then the driver shows up and suddenly there's a problem with the catalytic converter or the transmission mounts and the offer drops by $300. We've heard this story from Wheeling customers dozens of times. Our quote is based on an honest assessment, and that's the number we show up with — period.
Once you accept your offer, we'll set up a pickup time that works for you — often the same day or next day, especially if you're anywhere in Wheeling or the surrounding Cook County area. We run routes here regularly, so scheduling is rarely an issue. Give us a call and we'll lock in a time.
Transferring a car in Illinois involves more forms than most people expect — especially if the title isn't straightforward or there's an outstanding loan. Our drivers carry everything, know the process cold, and make sure it's all done correctly so you're not on the hook for anything down the road.
After we buy your vehicle in Wheeling, it's either resold, parted out, or recycled through licensed facilities that meet all Illinois environmental regulations. We never abandon vehicles or dump them — every car we buy is handled responsibly.

Wheeling is a suburban village in Cook and Lake counties, located approximately 23 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. The village takes its name from Wheeling, West Virginia. According to the 2020 census, Wheeling had a population of 39,137 residents.
Before European settlement, the land was home to various Native American nations. The Miami Confederacy, which included the Illini and Kickapoo tribes, controlled the area beginning in the early 1680s. By the 1700s, the Potawatomi had expanded into Northern Illinois and eventually dominated a large territory spanning from Green Bay to the Illinois River. The first European settler, Mr. Sweet, built a cabin in March 1833, though he sold it to George Strong that September for sixty dollars. Strong became the first permanent resident and purchased 160 acres from the government in 1834, with Strong Street later named in his honor.
The settlement grew steadily. By 1835, eighteen cabins stood in the township. Joseph Filkins opened the first tavern-hotel in 1834 at the intersection of Dundee Road and Milwaukee Avenue, establishing a post office there. A general store and trading post opened in 1837. The community built its first school in 1845 and its first industry, a brewery, in 1850. On June 18, 1894, Wheeling was formally incorporated as a village through a special election at the Union Hotel, with forty-three votes in favor and three against. Incorporation allowed the village to better control railroad workers and enforce existing ordinances. In 1970, Wheeling transitioned to a Council-Manager form of government, which continues today.
