If you've got a car sitting in your driveway that you don't want anymore, the hardest part is over — you've already decided to let it go. Joe's Cash For Cars makes everything after that as simple as it gets. You call, we make you an offer, you say yes, we show up and pay you on the spot. That's it.
We buy cars for cash all over Thompson and the surrounding Windham County area — running or not, any make, any model, free towing, scheduled pickup.
A lot of people assume their old car isn't worth much — especially if it doesn't run, has body damage, or has been sitting for a while. But we buy cars in every kind of condition, and we almost always pay more than people expect. Give us a call at 619-762-2001 and find out exactly what your car is worth.
There's no shortage of people who claim they'll buy your car — but a lot of them will lowball you, ghost you after the inspection, or show up with a completely different number than what they quoted. We don't operate that way.
We service every part of Thompson, including:
Three steps from your first call to getting paid. No runaround, no hidden fees.
Tell us your car's year, make, model, and condition. We give you a real offer in under two minutes — no callbacks, no pressure.
Accept the offer and pick a time that works for you — often the same day or next. We come right to you in Thompson — home, work, wherever. You don't move an inch.
Our driver brings all the paperwork, handles the tow, and pays you before they leave. Under 30 minutes, start to finish.
Some car-buying services quote you high to get you interested, then the driver shows up and suddenly there's a problem with the catalytic converter or the transmission mounts and the offer drops by $300. We've heard this story from Thompson customers dozens of times. Our quote is based on an honest assessment, and that's the number we show up with — period.
Once you accept your offer, we'll set up a pickup time that works for you — often the same day or next day, especially if you're anywhere in Thompson or the surrounding Windham County area. We run routes here regularly, so scheduling is rarely an issue. Give us a call and we'll lock in a time.
Transferring a car in Connecticut involves more forms than most people expect — especially if the title isn't straightforward or there's an outstanding loan. Our drivers carry everything, know the process cold, and make sure it's all done correctly so you're not on the hook for anything down the road.
After we buy your vehicle in Thompson, it's either resold, parted out, or recycled through licensed facilities that meet all Connecticut environmental regulations. We never abandon vehicles or dump them — every car we buy is handled responsibly.

Thompson is a town in Windham County in the northeastern corner of Connecticut, part of the Northeastern Connecticut Planning Region. Named after Sir Robert Thompson, an English landholder, the town had a population of 9,189 at the 2020 census. Thompson is bordered by Massachusetts towns to the north and east, Rhode Island to the southeast, and Connecticut towns to the west and south.
The town is home to Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, which features the highest-banked race track in New England. This 5/8 mile oval and restored 1.7 mile road course hosts one of New England's largest race programs, the World Series of Auto Racing, where approximately 400 cars across 16 divisions compete each fall. Thompson also marks the location of the Tri-State Marker at its border. The term "Swamp Yankee" is thought to have originated in Thompson during the American Revolution in 1776. In colonial times, an Indian village called Maanexit occupied the area.
The town encompasses 48.7 square miles and features numerous waterways, including West Thompson Lake and Quaddick Reservoir, as well as the French River and Five Mile River. Fort Hill, at 649 feet above sea level, stands as one of the highest points in the region. Thompson made history as the site of the Great East Thompson Train Wreck in 1891, one of the worst train wrecks in American history and notably the only one to involve four trains.
