Some car-buying services quote you high to get you interested, then the driver shows up and suddenly there's a problem with the catalytic converter or the transmission mounts and the offer drops by $300. We've heard this story from Sutter Creek customers dozens of times. Our quote is based on an honest assessment, and that's the number we show up with — period.
Once you accept your offer, we can usually get a truck out to you the same day — especially if you're anywhere in Sutter Creek or the surrounding Amador County area. We run routes here regularly, so scheduling is rarely an issue. Call before noon and we'll do everything we can to make it happen that afternoon.

After we buy your vehicle in Sutter Creek, it's either resold, parted out, or recycled through licensed facilities that meet all California environmental regulations. We never abandon vehicles or dump them — every car we buy is handled responsibly.

Sutter Creek, located in Amador County, California, is a small city with roots reaching back to the Gold Rush era. The town takes its name from nearby Sutter Creek, which was named after John Sutter, the early California developer whose discovery of gold at Coloma in January 1848 sparked the California Gold Rush. Sutter himself camped briefly at Sutter Creek before moving on, finding the area too crowded with fortune seekers and the workers he had brought increasingly drawn away by drinking and gambling at nearby establishments.
The community officially took shape in the mid-nineteenth century, with a post office established in 1852 and incorporation as a town in 1854. While placer gold attracted initial prospectors, the discovery of gold-bearing quartz deposits in 1851 transformed Sutter Creek into a proper boomtown. Mining these quartz deposits became the economic backbone of the community for decades. The Central Eureka mine, which began operations in 1869, exemplified this prosperity and by 1939 was the best-paying mine in town. Most mining operations ceased in 1942 during World War II due to manpower demands.
Today, Sutter Creek has evolved from a mining center into a tourist destination, featuring shops and restaurants that draw visitors to the area. The city, with a 2020 population of 2,646, remains accessible via State Route 49 and is registered as California Historical Landmark Number 322. The town's climate features long, hot summers and cool winters typical of Mediterranean conditions, with most precipitation falling during winter months.
