If you've got a car sitting in your driveway that you don't want anymore, the hardest part is over — you've already decided to let it go. Joe's Cash For Cars makes everything after that as simple as it gets. You call, we make you an offer, you say yes, we show up and hand you cash. That's it.
We buy cars for cash all over Ross and the surrounding Marin County area — running or not, any make, any model, free same-day towing.
A lot of people assume their old car isn't worth much — especially if it doesn't run, has body damage, or has been sitting for a while. But we buy cars in every kind of condition, and we almost always pay more than people expect. Give us a call at 619-762-2001 and find out exactly what your car is worth.
There's no shortage of people who claim they'll buy your car — but a lot of them will lowball you, ghost you after the inspection, or show up with a completely different number than what they quoted. We don't operate that way.
We service every part of Ross, including:
Three steps from your first call to cash in hand. No runaround, no hidden fees.
Tell us your car's year, make, model, and condition. We give you a real offer in under two minutes — no callbacks, no pressure.
Accept the offer and pick a time. Same-day is usually available. We come right to you in Ross — home, work, wherever. You don't move an inch.
Our driver brings all the paperwork, handles the tow, and hands you cash before they leave. Under 30 minutes, start to finish.
Some car-buying services quote you high to get you interested, then the driver shows up and suddenly there's a problem with the catalytic converter or the transmission mounts and the offer drops by $300. We've heard this story from Ross customers dozens of times. Our quote is based on an honest assessment, and that's the number we show up with — period.
Once you accept your offer, we can usually get a truck out to you the same day — especially if you're anywhere in Ross or the surrounding Marin County area. We run routes here regularly, so scheduling is rarely an issue. Call before noon and we'll do everything we can to make it happen that afternoon.
Transferring a car in California involves more forms than most people expect — especially if the title isn't straightforward or there's an outstanding loan. Our drivers carry everything, know the process cold, and make sure it's all done correctly so you're not on the hook for anything down the road.
After we buy your vehicle in Ross, it's either resold, parted out, or recycled through licensed facilities that meet all California environmental regulations. We never abandon vehicles or dump them — every car we buy is handled responsibly.

Ross is a small incorporated town nestled in Marin County, just 1.5 miles west-southwest of San Rafael and north of San Francisco. With a population of 2,338 as of the 2020 census, this quiet community spans 1.6 square miles and is surrounded by San Rafael, Larkspur, Kentfield, San Anselmo, and the Mount Tamalpais protected watershed.
The town's history traces back to the Mexican land grant system that emerged after the Mexican Revolution of 1821. Originally part of an 8,877-acre Mexican land grant to Juan B.R. Cooper in 1840, the area became known as Rancho Punta de Quentin. In 1857, James Ross, a Scottish immigrant who arrived in San Francisco from Australia in 1848 and built his fortune in the wholesale liquor business, purchased the rancho for $50,000 and established a trading post called Ross Landing. He built his home on Redwood Drive and settled there with his wife Annie and three children. When James Ross died in 1862, his widow was forced to sell portions of the larger land holdings to provide each daughter with $10,000. The remaining 297 acres eventually became the present-day town. Ross established its first post office in 1887 and incorporated in 1908.
Today, Ross reflects its heritage through landmarks including the Ross Bear sculpture by Beniamino Bufano near town hall and the Marin Art and Garden Center. The town is served by the Ross Elementary School District and the Tamalpais Union High School District, which include the Branson School and Ross School.
