If you've got a car sitting in your driveway that you don't want anymore, the hardest part is over — you've already decided to let it go. Joe's Cash For Cars makes everything after that as simple as it gets. You call, we make you an offer, you say yes, we show up and pay you on the spot. That's it.
We buy cars for cash all over Pismo Beach and the surrounding San Luis Obispo County area — running or not, any make, any model, free same-day towing.
A lot of people assume their old car isn't worth much — especially if it doesn't run, has body damage, or has been sitting for a while. But we buy cars in every kind of condition, and we almost always pay more than people expect. Give us a call at 619-762-2001 and find out exactly what your car is worth.
There's no shortage of people who claim they'll buy your car — but a lot of them will lowball you, ghost you after the inspection, or show up with a completely different number than what they quoted. We don't operate that way.
We service every part of Pismo Beach, including:
Three steps from your first call to getting paid. No runaround, no hidden fees.
Tell us your car's year, make, model, and condition. We give you a real offer in under two minutes — no callbacks, no pressure.
Accept the offer and pick a time that works for you — often the same day or next. We come right to you in Pismo Beach — home, work, wherever. You don't move an inch.
Our driver brings all the paperwork, handles the tow, and pays you before they leave. Under 30 minutes, start to finish.
Some car-buying services quote you high to get you interested, then the driver shows up and suddenly there's a problem with the catalytic converter or the transmission mounts and the offer drops by $300. We've heard this story from Pismo Beach customers dozens of times. Our quote is based on an honest assessment, and that's the number we show up with — period.
Once you accept your offer, we'll set up a pickup time that works for you — often the same day or next day, especially if you're anywhere in Pismo Beach or the surrounding San Luis Obispo County area. We run routes here regularly, so scheduling is rarely an issue. Give us a call and we'll lock in a time.
Transferring a car in California involves more forms than most people expect — especially if the title isn't straightforward or there's an outstanding loan. Our drivers carry everything, know the process cold, and make sure it's all done correctly so you're not on the hook for anything down the road.
After we buy your vehicle in Pismo Beach, it's either resold, parted out, or recycled through licensed facilities that meet all California environmental regulations. We never abandon vehicles or dump them — every car we buy is handled responsibly.

Pismo Beach sits on the southern portion of San Luis Obispo County along California's Central Coast, with a 2020 census population of 8,072. The city's name comes from the Chumash word pismuʔ, meaning tar, which the indigenous Chumash people harvested from tar springs in Price Canyon. They used this valuable tar to caulk their canoes, called tomol, for travel along the coast and to the Channel Islands. The Chumash had inhabited this region for at least 11,000 years before European contact.
The Spanish Portolá expedition became the first Europeans to explore the area by land, passing through Price Canyon in September 1769 and encountering a Chumash village. Pismo Beach developed much later, after the land became part of Rancho Pismo, a Mexican land grant given to José Ortega in 1840. John Michael Price purchased most of the rancho and established the town of Pismo Beach in 1891, with his homestead now preserved as Price Historical Park. The city's first wharf was built in 1882, followed by a full-length pier in 1924, funded and built by William Woodrow Ward for public use.
The city became famous for the Pismo clam, named for the long, wide beach where they once flourished in such abundance that they were harvested with plows. Though overharvesting and protected sea otters have depleted clam populations, Pismo Beach adopted the name "Clam Capital of the World" in the 1950s. The city continues to celebrate this heritage with an annual Clam Festival every October, featuring chowder competitions and a clam-themed parade.
