If you've got a car sitting in your driveway that you don't want anymore, the hardest part is over — you've already decided to let it go. Joe's Cash For Cars makes everything after that as simple as it gets. You call, we make you an offer, you say yes, we show up and pay you on the spot. That's it.
We buy cars for cash all over Phillips and the surrounding Hutchinson County area — running or not, any make, any model, free towing, scheduled pickup.
A lot of people assume their old car isn't worth much — especially if it doesn't run, has body damage, or has been sitting for a while. But we buy cars in every kind of condition, and we almost always pay more than people expect. Give us a call at 619-762-2001 and find out exactly what your car is worth.
There's no shortage of people who claim they'll buy your car — but a lot of them will lowball you, ghost you after the inspection, or show up with a completely different number than what they quoted. We don't operate that way.
We service every part of Phillips, including:
Three steps from your first call to getting paid. No runaround, no hidden fees.
Tell us your car's year, make, model, and condition. We give you a real offer in under two minutes — no callbacks, no pressure.
Accept the offer and pick a time that works for you — often the same day or next. We come right to you in Phillips — home, work, wherever. You don't move an inch.
Our driver brings all the paperwork, handles the tow, and pays you before they leave. Under 30 minutes, start to finish.
Some car-buying services quote you high to get you interested, then the driver shows up and suddenly there's a problem with the catalytic converter or the transmission mounts and the offer drops by $300. We've heard this story from Phillips customers dozens of times. Our quote is based on an honest assessment, and that's the number we show up with — period.
Once you accept your offer, we'll set up a pickup time that works for you — often the same day or next day, especially if you're anywhere in Phillips or the surrounding Hutchinson County area. We run routes here regularly, so scheduling is rarely an issue. Give us a call and we'll lock in a time.
Transferring a car in Texas involves more forms than most people expect — especially if the title isn't straightforward or there's an outstanding loan. Our drivers carry everything, know the process cold, and make sure it's all done correctly so you're not on the hook for anything down the road.
After we buy your vehicle in Phillips, it's either resold, parted out, or recycled through licensed facilities that meet all Texas environmental regulations. We never abandon vehicles or dump them — every car we buy is handled responsibly.

Phillips, Texas began as Pantex before becoming a thriving community in Hutchinson County. In 1938, the towns of Pantex and Whittenburg merged and were renamed Phillips by popular vote, honoring the Phillips Petroleum Company, which served as the area's dominant employer. The community flourished during the mid-twentieth century, reaching its peak population of 4,250 in 1947. Phillips became home to notable figures including American actress Mary Castle, who attended junior high school there as a girl, and Max Sherman, who graduated from Phillips High School and later became a State Senator and president of West Texas A&M University.
The town's fortunes began to shift during the 1950s and 1960s, as improved highways and better transportation prompted many businesses and residents to relocate to nearby Borger. By 1980, the population had declined to approximately 2,500. That same year, a devastating hydrocarbon explosion at the local refinery destroyed part of the industrial area and nearby homes, causing millions of dollars in damages. Following this disaster, Phillips 66 Oil Company purchased the land beneath the homes from local ranchers and forced residents to relocate. The town was permanently closed to residency at the company's request. In 1987, Phillips schools consolidated with those in Plemons and Stinnett to form the Plemons-Stinnett-Phillips Consolidated Independent School District. Today, Phillips stands as a ghost town, with the high school building being one of the few structures remaining, now used for business purposes by the Phillips 66 Refinery.
