A lot of people assume their old car isn't worth much — especially if it doesn't run, has body damage, or has been sitting for a while. But we buy cars in every kind of condition, and we almost always pay more than people expect. Give us a call at 619-762-2001 and find out exactly what your car is worth.
There's no shortage of people who claim they'll buy your car — but a lot of them will lowball you, ghost you after the inspection, or show up with a completely different number than what they quoted. We don't operate that way.
We service every part of Mountain Lake, including:
Three steps from your first call to getting paid. No runaround, no hidden fees.
Tell us your car's year, make, model, and condition. We give you a real offer in under two minutes — no callbacks, no pressure.
Accept the offer and pick a time that works for you — often the same day or next. We come right to you in Mountain Lake — home, work, wherever. You don't move an inch.
Our driver brings all the paperwork, handles the tow, and pays you before they leave. Under 30 minutes, start to finish.
Some car-buying services quote you high to get you interested, then the driver shows up and suddenly there's a problem with the catalytic converter or the transmission mounts and the offer drops by $300. We've heard this story from Mountain Lake customers dozens of times. Our quote is based on an honest assessment, and that's the number we show up with — period.
Once you accept your offer, we'll set up a pickup time that works for you — often the same day or next day, especially if you're anywhere in Mountain Lake or the surrounding Giles County area. We run routes here regularly, so scheduling is rarely an issue. Give us a call and we'll lock in a time.
Transferring a car in Virginia involves more forms than most people expect — especially if the title isn't straightforward or there's an outstanding loan. Our drivers carry everything, know the process cold, and make sure it's all done correctly so you're not on the hook for anything down the road.
After we buy your vehicle in Mountain Lake, it's either resold, parted out, or recycled through licensed facilities that meet all Virginia environmental regulations. We never abandon vehicles or dump them — every car we buy is handled responsibly.

Mountain Lake sits in Giles County near Newport, Virginia, as one of only two natural freshwater lakes in the state, alongside Lake Drummond in the Great Dismal Swamp. Originally called Salt Pond because cattle were brought there for salt, the lake typically covers about fifty acres at an elevation of 3,875 feet. The first written record of the lake came from Christopher Gist of the Ohio Land Surveying Company in 1751.
Scientists estimate the lake is about 6,000 years old, formed by rock slides and damming in an unusual combination of natural processes. Fed by cold underground springs that keep surface temperatures below seventy degrees, the lake is maintained by a fissure at its bottom that prevents it from becoming a bog. However, this same geological feature has made the lake's water levels notoriously unstable, fluctuating dramatically based on rainfall and water flow through underground channels.
The area surrounding Mountain Lake hosts one of Virginia's few virgin forests, including the rare Mann's Bog with its unusual northern plant species. The lake drains into Little Stoney Creek, which flows over a waterfall called The Cascades before reaching the New River. In January 1985, Mountain Lake recorded the state's lowest temperature on record at minus thirty degrees Fahrenheit.
In 1856, Henley Chapman incorporated the Mountain Lake Company to serve visitors, building a wooden hotel and saw mill. Following the Civil War, General Herman Haupt and his wife purchased the property in 1869 and reopened it to the public. Under later management, particularly Gilbert Porterfield's twenty-five-year tenure, the resort became known for fine cuisine and allowed guests to build private cottages on the grounds.
