McConnell is an unincorporated community and census-designated place located in central Logan County, West Virginia, situated on the east side of the Guyandotte River, a north-flowing tributary of the Ohio River. Established in 1933, the community was named after Mr. McConnell, a railroad promoter whose vision helped shape the area's development. According to the 2020 census, McConnell had a population of 412 residents, representing a decline from 514 people counted in the 2010 census.
