Fox Lake, a city in Dodge County, Wisconsin, holds a significant place in the region's history as the first settlement established in Dodge County in 1838. The area's name carries cultural heritage from its original inhabitants, the Winnebago Indians, who called it "Hosh-a-rac-ah-tah," meaning "good land."
